The VPK Urban Cooperative Credit Society Ltd popularly known as VPK had its humble beginnings over two decades ago.VPK Urban Co-operative Credit Society Ltd., was registered on 30th June 1993 with 304 promoter members and Rs.1, 10,000/- as share capital with Shri.Surya S.Gaude as a Chief Promoter then elected as a first Chairman of the society and started its actual operation on 9th Sept.1993.
Initially the area of operation was within panchayat area of Veling-Priol-Cuncoliem.The society started to make progress and within one year society extended the area of operation from village level to Taluka level with a branch in Ponda at Curti-Haveli in 1995.The society gradually spread its wings in the entire state of Goa with branches at Pale ,Chimbel ,Honda ,Vante Valpoi in Sattari Taluka ,Cortalim & Vasco in Mormugao Taluka ,Fatorda ,Colva, Agali,Cuncolim in Salcete Taluka ,Marcel, Ponda ,Tisk-Usgao & Khandepar in Ponda Taluka, Curchorem & Quepem in Quepem Taluka, Mandrem in Pernem Taluka and Canacona in Canacona Taluka.
The Society has achieved distinguished success in co-operative sector particularly because of its distinct objectives and strategic planning. The Society has nurtured its traditional values in business practices and in serving the small customers. It has carved a niche in the financial sector with complete integrity and adherence to best financial practices along with technological advancement and customized products. Good governance and a committed management with the Board of Directors with keen interest in the well being of the Society has been instrumental for VPK in reaching greater heights.
